About Zaza... & Marcelle

I'm Isabelle, "Zaza", a French Pâtisserie Chef, and like many of you, I love cakes! Marcelle was my Grandmother and an endless source of inspiration for me. I always thought that when the day came that I started my own business, her name would be part of the adventure as a tribute to this special person. 


I graduated seven years ago at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure de Pâtisserie in Yssingeaux (France). From then on, I kept learning that very special art from the best, working for Michel Belin, a renown chocolatier in France and Japan, or assisting highly regarded Pâtisserie Chefs in the very same school where I gained my diploma a few years earlier. During that time I had the opportunity to participate in a national Croquembouche contest for which I won a bronze medal.


After spending a year in London in an exquisite French pâtisserie, I had the honour of working with award winning cake designer Anna Tyler here in Bristol. Thanks to Anna, I discovered more of the art of wedding cakes for which I had developed a fond passion over the past few years.

My aim today is to bring together the best of both worlds: the knowledge of French pâtisserie combined with the intricate details of British cake design.
